always here to help
Do you have a studio?
I do not have a studio. All of my sessions take place either on location or in home.
Do you do headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, newborn shoots, commercial photography, or other types of photography?
Yes, I have experience in many fields of photography. Contact me and let’s have a chat!
Do you shoot Quinceaneras, Debutants, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, or Corporate Events?
Yes. These are all considered ‘event photography.’ I have chosen to focus and excel at event photography, and I would love to cover your celebration.
Do you photograph children?
Yes, absolutely! Come every autumn I work seasonally as a school photographer and interact with kids of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities and personalities.
Where will we go for our outdoor shoot?
There are so many options! What suits you? Really—that’s the most important part of choosing a location. We’ll want to pick something that matches your aesthetic and, ideally, somewhere that is special to you. I have a few locations that I love, but I’ll work with you to decide on just the right spot.
Do you travel for photo sessions?
I’m absolutely open to it! I’d love to discuss options with you.
Do you provide the RAW files from a photo session?
No, I do not. I believe in delivering a finished product. In fact, I’m often shooting with the end (post-produced) product in mind.
What if I just need one or a few portraits taken?
I take a variety of portraits in different poses and interactions, both of individual family members and all of you together. The result is a collection of images that tell the story of your relationships and personalities. Often, the best images come from the end of the session when everyone is the most relaxed! Taking just one photograph wouldn’t likely give great results.
Do you deliver every image that you shoot?
No, I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, because I shoot with low apertures, sometimes I take a few extra shots to make sure I have the perfect focus. I don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so I spend hours doing that on our end. In another example, candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day. Unfortunately, they can also yield some unflattering facial expressions. I might snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure I have a great shot with the ideal expression for the moment. With our expertise of processing millions of images each year, I may eliminate ones that I feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one.
How will I select which images I want to order?
It can be a tough decision! I’m available to help guide you through the process. If you need an extra set of eyes to help narrow down your favorites, I’m always happy to offer my opinion on which images best convey your story.
How should I dress for my photo session?
With family photography I recommend that you choose simple, textured apparel that reflect your personality. For example: jeans, layered hand knits, corduroy, and wraps with a loose weave. Choose clothes that are flattering to your figure. Avoid clothes with strong patterns, logos or high-contrast stripes. I love a bit of pattern sprinkled in among your family's clothes. Most importantly make sure you choose three to four colors and have everyone stick to those shades so that the family's clothes coordinate together.
With individual portrait sessions or location portraits, give me a call and we can discuss style, vibe, perception, etc.
